There is lots of controversy over modesty, especially when God is thrown into the picture. My thoughts on the topic are that it depends on heart and motivation behind what is being worn. What we wear should reflect and honor God:
“I desire…that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works.”
Modesty is not anti-fashion, but means that what we wear should reflect God, and our purpose in life.
Each day you step in front of the mirror, you should question yourself, asking
What am I trying to accomplish by what I wear?
Personally, I love fashion and dressing with style, and I also think that it is very important that I do so in a manner that is honoring and valuing to God [I also don’t want my body to be looked at in a lustful way].
I hope that through this blog I can honor God through promoting stylish and modest fashion.
